An Example of a Week on SHSD

It's the beginning of the week and Falcon decides that he wants a battle that weekend. After checking the OOC, he sees that there are no challenges, so he posts his own. The subject reads something like:

Looking for a fight

Later he rights an RP where the Falcon has heard of a local drug dealer and he desides to track him down and arrest him.

Black Lightning decides that he also wants a fight for the week. He checks out the OOC Board and sees Falcon's open challenge and decides to accept. Through OOC messages, email, or IM's, they decide to make the fight IC, or (In Character/Contuinity) meaning that they will both RP for their fight as oppossed to an OOC fight, where they RP their own stories and dont interact at all. These types of fights are frowned upon if they become too frequent.

Through their conversations, they make a plan as to how the fight takes place. Black Lightning RP's that he caught the same drug dealer that Falcon was after. As he loots the dealer he pulls out the drugs, just in time for Falcon to find him. Since Black Lightning was in normal clothes, Falcon thinks he is the drug dealer and attacks him.

Both guys do two RP's a piece. On Wednesday's, the battle card mod makes a post. The subject looks like:

Post Your Battle and Locations Here!

Black Lightning checks the OOC on Weds morning and finds this post. Since he was the first to see it, he makes a reply to that post and puts this in the subject

Black Lightning vs. Falcon @ New York Alley

Falcon checks the boards that evening, and since his battle was already put on the list, he doesn't have to do it. Now all they have to do is wait for the battle mods to do their battle that weekend and for the site mod to post it on Sunday Night.

This is how a battle is rolled. First, the battle mods look for the post called Battle Card which the battle card mod puts up on Friday morning. On this week, lets pretend that the battle mod Green Lantern has the Falcon vs Black Lightning battle. The first thing he would do was to check both of their stats. This is an example of how they might look.

Next he assigns each fighter a side of a d20 dice. He assigns Falcon to 1-10 and Black Lightning to 11-20. Once he does that, he rolls the dice. The first number that he rolls is a 3. That means that Falcon does a normal attack on BL (Black Lightning). Next he has to see if the attack hits, so he rolls again. This time he rolls a 6. Since BL's Speed is only 17, he doesn't dodge the attack. Since Falcon's Combat is 41, that means he does 5 damage with every hit. That means that BL only has 25 HP left.

The battle mod rolls the dice again. This time he rolls a 19, meaning BL does a normal attack. He rolls to see if Falcon dodges and rolls a 3. Since Falcon's Speed is 26, it means he dodges the attack.

Next he rolls a 14, another attack for BL. This time Falcon gets a 17 for his dodge chance, which means the attack hits. BL has 20 Combat, which means he hits for 2 damage every attack. He also has a +2 weapon, meaning he adds 2 damage to every attack for a total of 4 damage every hit. That means that Falcon is hit for 4 damage, leaving him at 36 HP.

The next number he rolls is a 5. That means that Falcon activates his secondary special, which is 3 free dodges.

Next he rolls an 11, meaning BL attacks. Falcon gets a 14 to dodge, which means the attack hits. But since Falcon has 3 free dodges, the attack misses anyway.

Next he rolls a 17. BL attacks. Falcon rolls a 1, which means he dodges on his own and doesn't use his remaining 2 dodges yet.

A 2 is rolled next, which means Falcon attacks. BL is lucky enough to get a dodge roll of 2, so he dodges.

A 12 is next. BL attacks. Falcon gets a 20 to dodge, so he uses a free dodge.

A 15 is rolled next. Even though he doesn't have a secondary special, BL can activate his Glider on this roll, and adds 20 to his Speed, making it 37!

Next a 3 is rolled. Falcon attacks. A 3 is rolled to dodge. Thanks to BL's new Speed, he dodges the attack.

A 16 is rolled next. BL attacks. Falcon gets a 9 to dodge so he uses his last remaining free dodge.

Next a 20 is rolled. BL gets to do his special. Falcon gets a 14 to dodge and has no free dodges left, so the attack hits. BL does 18 damage to Falcon. He has two Offensive Weapons. Only one can be used at a time. In this case, the di is rolled. 1-10 is decided to be the Alien Virus Blaster while 11-20 is the Condensor. A 4 is rolled, meaning the Alien Virus Blaster is also used. Falcon is hit for the 18 damage, leaving him at 18 HP. The Virus Blaster also hit him, which means he will take additional damage for the rest of battle. BL's special has another effect. Since it was effective, he adds a +6 to each normal attack roll, meaning that he hits for 10 every normal attack!

The battle mod rolls a 9 next. Since Falcon has the Discipline Scroll, he can activate his Primary Special on a 9 or 10. Therefor he does his special. BL gets a 10 to dodge so the attack hits. Falcon does 9 damage to BL. He also has a Level 10 TM weapon which means 10 extra damage happens on his special. As as additional bonus, he has a Condensor that is used that disables BL's Primary Special, meaning that he can no longer roll it for the rest of battle. His weapons that are activated on that roll can still be activated, however. So BL takes a total of 19 damage, leaving him with 6 HP! Since this was an attack, Falcon takes 2 damage from the Alien Virus, leaving him at 16 HP.

Next a 4 is rolled, meaning Falcon attacks. A 7 is rolled to dodge, which means BL takes 5 points of damage, leaving him at 1!! Since it was an attack, Falcon takes 2 more damage. He has 14 HP left.

A 18 is rolled next. BL attacks. A 9 is rolled to dodge, meaning Falcon takes 10 points of damage from BL, leaving him at 4. Since it was an attack, it leaves Falcon with only 2 HP!

The next number rolled is a 17. BL attacks. Falcons gets a 13 to dodge, so the attack hits him for 10 HP, knocking him out and leaving Black Lightning the winner with 1 HP!!

After rolling the battle, the battle mod will read the RP's of both fighters and write a story detailing the fight while using their own RP's for the basis. Then the battles are posted on Sunday Night.

STATS

On Monday evening, both players read their battle. Afterwards they decide to send in their stats to shsd_stats@yahoo.com.

Black Lightning won, so he got 3 stats and 30 dollars. Since he RP's twice to get the battle, he gets an extra 15 dollars. He wants to add 1 stat to his Combat, making it 21, so he could hit harder with every hit. The other 2 points he decides to put in Speed. He sends in his email with this as the subject:

Black Lightning: 1 to Combat, 2 to Speed, +45 dollars (Read Inside)

Inside, Black Lightning tells the stat mod that he has enough money to purchase a Secondary Special for 300 dollars. He also tells the stat mod how much money he will have left after the purchase and what his new Power Level or PL will be. Every little bit helps and the more of the work the player does, the quicker the stat mod can finish his work.

Falcon also sends his in. He lost, so he gets 2 stat points and 15 dollars. He also RP'd twice, so he gets 15 extra dollars. Unlike BL, Falcon has the Training Program, so he gets 1 extra stat to each category every week he is active. The Subject to his email looks like:

Falcon: 1 to HP, 1 to Combat, 1 to Speed and 3 to AB, +$30

Inside the email, Falcon also puts his new power level and his new money total.

On Thursday, the stat mod checks all the emails and updates the stats in time for the battles that weekend. And that's how a week at SHSD goes.
